For years, Arena Racing USA has provided exciting indoor minicup racing to the tidewater area of Virginia but that will be changing.  Owner Ricky Dennis has partnered with Joe Gibbs Racing and others to expand into the Charlotte area - which will lead to great exposure in NASCAR's backyard.  Click here for the full press release.

MMRA ANNOUNCES NEW SEALED ENGINE PROGRAM

JOE HENDERSON - MINICUP RACER MOVING UP

Just two years ago, Joe Henderson was racing minicups at the MMRA Nationals Presented by the U.S. Air Force.  Now he has just signed a deal with Bobby Hamilton Racing, Kodak, and the Drive for Diversity program.  Congratulations Joe!  Click here for the press release.

Thanks to the folks from Race Against Drugs and Hoosier Tire, minicups were represented at the Red Ribbon Day Celebration in the inner courtyard of the Pentagon in Washington, DC.  Click here for some photos from this high security area.

ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG DRIVERS

This is not minicup-specific but young minicup racers should check it out.  The Red Bull Driver Search program is working with 25 indoor go-kart facilities to identify racing talent in drivers aged 16-19.  This is strictly performance-based - i.e. if you have the talent, you can make it to the top without bringing money to the table.  Visit www.redbulldriversearch.com and look at the "Approach-2".  If there is a participating indoor karting center near you, see if you have what it takes to make the cut!

WILL KIMMEL WINS VALVOLINE CUP

Faced with stiff competition from thousands of Legends, Allison Legacy, and Baby Grand racers, Will Kimmel triumphed in the scaled stock division of the Valvoline Cup Championship in his minicup car.  Kudos to Will for his achievement.  Click here to read a newspaper article about his year.
